The USPTO charges the provisional filing fee by entity size (37 CFR 1.16(d), fee schedule effective January 19, 2025). It is passed through at cost, never marked up. USPTO fees for a utility application are separate and also passed through at cost.

- **No filing, no charge.** You pay only once the USPTO’s receipt exists, never before.
- **No hourly billing.** The price is fixed before you type a word, and it never moves.
- **The practitioner’s fee is theirs.** The practitioner who signs is paid a flat fee that is theirs alone.
